The off-topic board has been presented with many strange things through the years and this story is right up there.
A videotape airing yesterday showing an American being beheaded in Iraq was a hoax, staged in San Francisco by a man looking to draw attention to himself.
Vanderford, 22, said he began distributing the video on the Internet months ago in hopes of drawing attention to his one-time campaign for city supervisor. When his political aspirations waned, he thought the video would serve as social commentary.
So . . . . you set up a fake beheading to get yourself a job? :blink:
