The off-topic board has been presented with many strange things through the years and this story is right up there.

A videotape airing yesterday showing an American being beheaded in Iraq was a hoax, staged in San Francisco by a man looking to draw attention to himself.

Vanderford, 22, said he began distributing the video on the Internet months ago in hopes of drawing attention to his one-time campaign for city supervisor. When his political aspirations waned, he thought the video would serve as social commentary.

So . . . . you set up a fake beheading to get yourself a job?

This guy is obviously a serious nutjob.

This should serve as an example of what can happen when people forget to parent their children.

You know what they say. There's no such thing as bad publicity. Although this article is one of the best I've seen that can dispute that. Idiot.

Some plans people don't think through and they turn out bad and I can understand that, but dude people are expecting you to be dead, do you think they would still vote for you. It's not like you can just go out and say, hey this doctor I know sewed it back on for me.
