Just got a Blackberry 8830 at work (Telus). Does anyone have any suggestions for how to make it more awesome? Specifically, I'm looking for useful apps like googlemaps that come in handy. Wallpaper? Ring tones?

Also, because the bus ride is long and boring, any recommendations for sites to get (free) games of high quality would be appreciated.

Google maps is free to download. And of course, if you have the unlimited data package for $15 like I do, go hard!!

Google Maps and Google Talk are all I've downloaded onto my 8830. Google Maps is especially useful -- just make sure you have a good data plan or your company is paying your mobility bill!

Touch screen, use to the Palm platform and I HATE Windows Mobile.

I had the Palm 600, then 650 and now the 700p...for me it was just knowing the product. I was going to go Crackberry because of the Excel/Word however the 700p ended up getting those programs as well.

I used the 8830 & Pearl 2 and just found myself hitting the screen too much to complete tasks to the point it was driving me nuts! Having bigger hands I found that I would fumble around with that little ball to move the cursor around and the buttons were to close compared to the Palm, so I would end up tying like my cat.

Really it just came down to personal preference and what I was use to using. I heard somewhere that Treo's will be using Windows ONLY from now on, which makes me sad :( IMO Treo & Blackberry are both great products, I would just never get an Audiovox/HTC product because they are junk for the most part.

Also for Q&A type stuff try www.crackberry.com (http://www.crackberry.com) my buddy says he uses that all the time when he can't figure out certain things or to find out whatever error msgs mean (I guess you should expect a few of those ;) )
