OK, I am not a GM, but it is something that I would love to do one day.
But I am unclear on how these games work.

I read the part in the rules, about Game simulation.

But I still am a bit fuzzy.

I have gone through a couple of rosters here and so on, and I just want to know how you "play games" here

For example if the Vancouver Canucks were playing the Toronto Maple Leafs, how would you guys determine the winners??

Thanks.

There is a program called FHL which can be found at www.fhlsim.com (http://www.fhlsim.com). All the players have rating such as scoring, defence etc... The program takes these ratings and generates a game using some kind of forumlas.

Hope this helps

So there is some kind of program that uses these player ratings, and then randomly selects a winner, with goal scorers etc....

So couldnt you guys look at the ratings, and then just predict which team will win?

Ya the program takes the ratings and generates a full box score with minutes played, stats, penatities etc. The box scores looking like this (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/index.php?showtopic=493) THe higher the ratings the of each player the better the team.

I guess that is what the good GM's do. but there is so much randomness in the programming, line combos etc.. that if is very diffucult. You try to ice what you think is the beast line-up for your team and hope the program agrees. but you never know.
