So if I bought a ticket for 25 from ticketmaster then it would be safe to say I could sell it for 25 not including the 5 dollar fees. For example before I post them I bought tickets through the sneak a peek or whatever. 25 dollars each Is it ok to sell them for that?

We don't have the official price info yet, but basically it'll be whatever the price on the face of the ticket is. So if the ticket says $20 and there was a $5 ticketmaster fee then you could only sell it for $20.

If you bought through sneak a peek, was that through ticketmaster, or was that straight from the Flames?

IIRC the sneak a peak tickets were in the Fan Zone, so they have a face value of $25.

The only problem I can see with this, is that if you have tickets purchased from ticketmaster your basically going to be losing money, even if it's only 5-15 dollars. Last year I bought a crap load of tickets at the beginning of the year but then got season tickets with a buddy. I could have made a lot of money on ebay selling them individually, but l didn't mind selling them on here because it's quick and easy to get buyers and I know most people on here are hardcore Flames fans and I'd rather see a hardcore fan get to go to a game for face value, than some rich guy buying them off e-bay. It's really too bad there wasn't someway you could bump the price up to include all service charges, because I don't think anyone would have a problem paying 5 dollars more and then the sellers get at least their cost back on them.

We have no way of checking that however, and we have to try and stay as legal as possible.

Remember this was totally abused last playoffs to the point we had to shut it all down, and this is even a trial run to see if we can do it without getting in trouble or having it get out of control.

Scalpers can be particularly virulent. One guy had 12 CP handles out of his university internet account before being shut down. They basically scoff at forum rules and you could never be quite sure if they weren't scam artists based on examination of their IP addresses.

The new forum software should be better at weeding them out, but as I said, they can be a nasty, persistent bunch.

It's a bit of a game of Whack-A-Mole for the moderators. As soon as one goes down another pops up. A big consumption of time in my opinion.

CAn you limit this section being used to a certain number of posts. That may deter those just signing up to sell/buy ticketsand not contributing to the site. I for one would feel much safer using this service if it's from a trusted poster than a guy with 1 or 2 posts.

On another MB I used to visist regularly thier Buy/Sell forum could only be viewed be posters who had more than 100 posts.

I'm confused. I thought you all decided it was only for exchanges?

We have a posting restriction of 100 posts before you can start a thread.

We are doing this on a trial basis. As long as everybody follows the rules (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=29365) then we can keep the ticket sales available.
