No, I'm not making that up.
Government scientists are at the point where they are going to try and paralyze chickens with laser beams, hoping to use the results as a basis for developing future high tech weaponry, a humane way of temporarily putting down an enemy combatant.

Is the moral argument there for using this over bullets, however?
