Long-time defenceman Bob Boughner is heading to Florida in a trade that saw Pavel Trnka pack his bags for Colorado.
"Trnka wasn't a team player, so we decided to bring in someone who is" said Penney. We feel that Boughner is a better defensive defenceman which will go a long way keeping the pucks out of the net."
Although the Flames gave up a few years in age, Boughner's grit and overall physical style of play will certaintly help this young Panthers squad.
"Boughner is a role model and will be a great guy in the locker room" said Penney. "Making this deal was a no-brainer".
