Here's the idea....who would be in your all-star band? The styles don't have to mesh, though you can make it that way if you want. I'll give an example of what I'm looking for.

Some strange person might reply as follows...

vocals-Ted Nugent
Lead Guitar-Lita Ford
Bass-Bootsy Collins
Drums-Ringo Starr

pretty simple. You don't have to limit yourself to 4 spots and can include other instruments if you like.

I'll put mine out in the first reply.

OK...here's mine

Lead Guitar-Jimmy Page
Bass Guitar-Victor Wooten
Drums-Neil Peart
Piano/Keyboards-Elton John
Lead vocals-Freddie Mercury

My 4 favorite musicians on each instrument and the guy I think is the epitomy of what the lead singer of a rock band should be. There are so few like Freddie. He may not have had the best voice ever (certainly was good) but the man could put on one hell of a show.

I should add...the songwriting power with Page and Peart would be phenomenal...and heck, even Elton John can write a great song if Bernie is around!

Icarus, would the vocals be shared between all the ones you listed? Cool choice, if that is indeed what you have decided.

Great to see Geoff Tate get some recognition! He'd be my first choice based on voice alone without a doubt. The guy has an incredible voice.
