Joining the Club
September always brings a huge influx of new players. As such there will be open games in September for the Fata's and priority will be determined in the following order:
Gm's - Roster players - previous fata members - new members.
After September you have to tryout in order to join the club. We're always looking to add new players, and will highlight the positions we have the most desires to fill. A player can tryout for 5 games in a 7 day span.

The type of players the GM's are looking for are those who play the game with good positioning, hockey sense, and team play. Our competitive level is within the elite rankings, so we want to have players that can handle playing against the best clubs that the league has to offer. We want to be VERY CLEAR that there is no place on this team for poor sports, we enjoy the game win or lose.

Ideally I would hope we all try and play with every class during this beta so we can see how they each handle but personally since I love setting up the perfect play with a sweet pass, i can see myself rockin the Playmaker. When needed for the club, i can also play with either the 2-way or Power Forward. While on D I prefer to use 2-way as well but it would be nice if i became our Fata's new Phil Housley and perfected the usage of the offensive defenseman :cool:

I vote Stamps at being able to play Enforcer only :D

Not really digging this beta.

It seems that defensemen are being easily exploited. The pokecheck is under-powered and slows you down drastically after using it once, allowing forwards to walk around you. If you do manage to get the puck from an opposing player, there is a slight delay before you are able to do anything with it, so it's bumped off your stick almost instantly. The passing (especially D to D on the point) is extremely sloppy, no matter what build you use. You can't charge down passes like the PS3 games. You can't tie up in front of the net. The builds seem very similar to me, with the biggest differences being the height/weight of the character.

Anyways, I really hope some of these issues will be resolved before the game is released.

I agree with the majority of your points. Passing is terrible, especially as a DFD. I also get a bit of input lag, but that varies game to game.

I don't know if I agree with the pokecheck though. I find that as a DFD, it's a very useful tool. Even when playing as a two way defender, the improvement to the stick that the DFD has is very noticeable.

I do think that they need to improve the passing and the responsiveness of the players.

I really enjoyed playing withe the Fatas during the beta - hope to play some more with you guys when the full game comes out.

I am sure the team will be rather active. At the start there is always more players then we can handle but after a few months it settles down. I had a chance to play it on Xbox, They definitely are serious about making the fan happy about this release.

I know I played like crap last night. Real rusty with the game, if I make mistakes or there's obvious missed opportunities please do not hesitate to give suggestions. I have real trouble breaking into the zone and getting around dmen as well as passing to the right spots in the slot at the right time. How does changing angles to get better passes work? Mine is still "Preparing for Shipment" I didn't choose 1 day or two day shipping because I didn't know they would take for flipping ever on this crap. Now I can't even adjust it to tell them to hurry up. Complete crap that with free super saver they can't even ship a game by now.

We are all still figuring it out, no worries bud.

We started to get better as we got used to everyone's style and really pushed the puck low. When we are struggling is when we are trying to carry into the zone and cut to the middle, that move want working for anyone. Stamp was taking it in the going to the lower corner and it was extremely effective.

We'll make sure to give pointers the next time we play so everyone can improve.

Well I gave up with Amazon. I cancelled my order and just went to Best buy since no way I wanted to miss out on playing it this weekend. Also I got surprised to find out controllers were on sale for 50 bucks so I picked one of those up too.

We need to speed up the passing, it's actually quite accurate if you practice enough. Is there a practice mode for the team?

Also we need to not chase as much in the defensive zone, force shots to the outside instead of trying to stop every shot.

Finally the best piece of advice (from Skaloper?); wingers must put pressure on in the offensive zone and force turnovers. Sitting back and stopping the breakout doesn't work.

The only thing I can add is that if we have a guy cornered and there are two attacking frequently two people will attack the same side instead of one covering right and one covering left and this is often how they escape.

Sorry Iceman, good advice though.

NHL 16 patch 1.03 is available now, weighing it at just over 2GB. According to the patch notes on the PlayStation 4, it improves online game performance and crash issues. If we get any additional details, we will update this post.

I don't know. I have rage quit before, but I think I mostly played the first couple years before you were around. I have played more than a thousand games with the Fatas, so I'm sure I had a few quits.

Mostly what happens to me is I get sick of the game and stop playing. So I think over the past 4 or 5 years, I would often be on the team for a few weeks and then stop playing NHL. Is that what you mean?

Two guys in my club are in Alberta, both with Telus (one in Strathmore, one in Edmonton) and both are dealing with lag. I'm wondering if it's a Telus issue?

I'm with Telus and all EASHL games are laggy for me. Online one vs one games have zero lag though.

Something that I found incredibly interesting was I experienced no lag when I was playing on a friends club hosted on the eastern servers. I always have a bit of input lag when I play on our western servers.

Using the Telus router, but I have my PS4 hard-wired and in a DMZ.

I ask because the Telus router is hot garbage and uses a QoS system that prioritizes TV. I would strongly suggest having the Telus router setup in bridge mode and using a mainstream router like Asus (imo best choice right now).

I would suggest doing what I posted above for the best performance. DMZ Won't bring you a performance increase with the Telus router.
