So far, a bronze from the 2 races in Canoe Kayak.
3 more races in the next hour or so (midnight as of right now, early Friday morning), live on CBC, all which have Canadians....

Anyone in Canada who's between the ages of 26-32, and didn't own a Beaver Canoe shirt and/or Ocean Pacific and/or T&C Surfwear clothing, is lying through their teeth.

ok, I'm kinda getting depressed watching this.

Each race Canada is on the outside lane, either 1 or 9, and by the first checkpoint they drop off the screen.

That Van Koeverdan is an impresive athlete though. He won a bronze, and still has another race tomorrow I think. Plus he's young so he can be a big medal hopeful in Beijing.

Bah.

1 for 5 tonight.

From the looks of it, there was only 1 poor race, the other 3 races, Canadians weren't favoured to get a medal (or really even close) in the first place...

Would've been nice to get one more..let hope for more then 1 in the 5 races tomorrow night.....

The entire canoe/kayak team was aiming for the Bejing games as their breakout, not Athens. While the finals results have been somewhat disapointing, the overall result is encouraging. Hopefully we will be a force on the water in 2008.

are there any more finals to come in this event?

Five more that we are involved in, I believe.

hey, if we get another medal out of those five, than that will be quite a success for kayak/canoe.

If only the athletes who were supposed to win medals would have come through, this might not have been a bad Olympics for Canada after all. Of course having said that, I hope the people in charge dont use that as an excuse to not help build our programs...

A gold, and a bronze. So 2 for 5 tonight.

3/10 overall in finals.

Not bad....hopefuly the experience and results will make the whole rowing/caneoing/kayaking team even better in '08.
