Complete newb question here, but we had our house listed for a day and already got a verbal offer and we accepted, however nothing is signed on paper. We have more showings coming up and if one of them offers more money can we legally take it and kibosh the 1st offer? I know is kind of a dick move, but is it technically allowed? Neither they or us have realtors (Comfree) either if that makes any difference

A realtor would be able to answer this for you but you don't think their services are worth paying for.

This random internet article says that land verbal agreements don't work.

How ever if you want to risk hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential litigation that is up to you. If you want information from a pro shoot me a PM and I will get you in touch with a professional on real estate transaction requirements

it is my understanding that she offered her honor and he honored her offer and all that night he was.....

I dont consider anything not on paper and am reluctant to even pass verbal offers onto my clients. As so many fsbo, you may have undersold yourself and the work of a professional could have been paid for in a higher sale price anf you wouldnt have this issue right now.

This might not be the best sub-forum to ask that question. The real estate agents get testy if you don't pay thousands of dollars for their expertise.

The Statute of Frauds applies here.

Before you do anything further, consult with your real estate lawyer.

Edit: Or hire a realtor. Realtor's fees are very cheap compared to a lawsuit.
