With the trade deadline just a week away, predict what type of move, if any, the Flames make.

Tune in Wed at 8 pm to hear the results.

I think we can expect the same Sutter type moves this year.

I don't see him making a huge splash, especially if it means giving up roster players. I think he likes what he have, and he's said that plenty of times during the year (granted we should take everything he says with a gigantic grain of salt).

I see a versatile 3rd line forward, who can be plugged pretty much anywhere and play with energy (a la Glencross/Bourque).

IMO, Sutter will make a minor move which will add depth... . However he will try to make a major move but like last year the asking price is too much for the Flames.

I think he makes a minor move that ends up having a significant impact.

Unless our injury woes continue, I don't see Sutter doing anything major. Maybe a 3rd of 4th liner who can add size and speed for a pick or prospect.

I'd like to change my answer in light of Giordano's surgery announcement.

It will be nothing more than a minor move. Sutter isn't about to mortgage the farm for a quick fix or a rental player, that would ultimately set back the teams youth movement. It will be by comittee with the rest of the team contributing more to make up for the loss of key players.

Heard Murray on the radio today saying that he was looking for picks and prospects.

Having said that I'm guessing the Flames leave Ottawa on March 3rd with an extra body, one of maybe Vermette, Kelly or Smith. Regehr immediately takes Smith under his wing and teaches him how to hate the Oilers whilst Glencross offers counselling.

A minor trade with significant impact.

With all the injuries I think Sutter brings in some depth for the playoff run.

I was thinking nothing...but now I think he pretty much has to add at least one depth defenceman.

Can't go into the playoffs with just 6 D-men; at least one D-man added, and would not be surprised if its two

Going into the deadline I think you'd have to say this is the strongest team we've had that I can remember. As such I think if Sutter was going to add a big name guy, this year is a good year to do it. I consider us a contender already and adding a "big name" would improve that.

I think he's going to see if he can add one of the big defenders. If that goes down he'd probably have to make another depth move or two cause we'd probably lose somebody in the big deal.

His comments of a couple weeks ago when he suggested that " what we have on the farm is better than what is being shopped around" are likely no longer valid nor appropriate with the rash of injuries the club has suffered.

Giordano and Bourque out long term almost demands he makes a fairly significant deal in my opinion.

Though Vandermeer is a solid NHL dman, he doesnt replace what Giordano was bringing to the club. So unless Pardy is able to step up in both minutes and on the PP, Sutter will be looking to add there...and hopefully a right hand shot to balance out the D line.

Another guy that has experience with top 6 production and minutes is also gonna be a target with BORK out....this Guerin suggestion makes a lot of sense.

I was totally one of the two that voted Blockbuster deal. Kudos flip.
