CP Radio - postponed this week: equipment failure

Folks,

A critical piece of equipment for our broadcasts has suddenly stopped working. As such this week's show is being postponed until I get the item fixed/replaced - which will hopefully be just a couple of days.

I'll post the new day/time as soon as I know. Sorry!

The main pieces of equipment are:
1. Small Audio board with mics
2. Record Deck - a little device called an H4 Recorder
3. Laptop

The deck is what's broken down on us...

worry not, I'm getting feedback in my speakers and microphone recordings so I can't record another CP Radio tag for you right now.

Any idea what might cause that?

One possibilty is you have your mic plugged into the earphone hole by mistake. Sounds like a simple thing but I've put it in the wrong hole a few times (and there's the 3-2 fastball right down the center of the plate to Fotze).

double checked the connections, that's not it, nothing inside the computer seems out of place. Perhaps I need to get a power bar with noise filter?

Other than that maybe it's my sound card :(

Still in holding pattern - looks like the piece of equipment requires replacement so we are working on that.

Yeah? I heard they're on sale for Halloween but they only have the American manufactured ones. I'm waiting for the Eastern European models to come out. Those Eastern Europeans riot hard and riot often, so I'm waiting for the genuine equipment to hit the market.

Sadly no - I can assure everyone we will be coming back - but the equipment issue is proving to be more serious than originally anticipated and before the money is spent on replacing it - want to explore every option for repair.

But we will return better and bigger than ever.

Still having the issue? One really easy one as well is your speakers need to be turned off or you get feedback.. Use headphones as a monitor...
