Gang,

We will be finalizing our day/time for the next show, but in the meantime if you have any topic ideas please post them here. Lots of great suggestions in the "Guest thread" but now we are looking for any specific topics you want us to bring up for the next show.

As mentioned during the first show, we will be previewing the Eastern Conference next, but if there are specific angles you want us to take on that let us know.

Similarily if there is anything Flames related you want us to cover, fire away!

Most likely big name eastern player to be moved

First coach to be canned.

First GM to be canned

And of course

If you could get a former GM on the air, I'd love to know how GMs pick names of players they get involved with trades, how negotiations happen, how they build these trades and how spare parts are chosen in a trade (ie. how Dustin Johner was included in the Huselius trade)

It would be neat to get one of our Quad Cities "correspondents" on once in a while to talk about the prospects in QC...

Training camp battles:

Who's job is on the line? Which of the young guys are making a strongcase?
Who looks good? Who seems to have some chemitry?

I'd be interested in hearing opinions about the three Canadian teams and where they'll land.

- Do people think that the Habs can win the Conference again? If not then who?

- What about the deadline race between the Hurricanes, Sabres and Caps, will that be repeated or have any of those teams improved enough to cement a spot?

- Different takes on the Tampa "Merry-Go-Round of Crazy" would be interesting.

- Who is going to take playoff spots from last year's playoff teams? Florida, but Buffalo, Carolina, Atlanta.

And dont forget that the Sens suck.;)

Things of that nature and the like.

At the same time, it might not be a bad idea to dedicate some time to the new Russian league and early takes on the possible implications that it infers.

BTW are the Panthers the only team at present to have a coach with no NHL experience? Didn't know where else to ask.

I'd like to here thoughts on who you guys think won't live up to expectations, specifically on the Flames and in the NHL. For example, looking at Giordano in Calgary, what are his expectations, I know a lot of people wanted him back here last season, can he live up to expectations?

Also takes of other guys around the NHL and if they can meet high expecations, such as Duncan Keith.

Coaching/identity issues. Will there be consitency issues again? Will the team go more defensive to help shore up Kipper, can they sustain that? Will that effect offense greatly?
Basically will the infuriating team of the past couple of seasons turn up or will that be answered.

^^ Reading the story was enough to activate my gag reflex. I would be all out vomitting if I heard someone actually describing and telling the story.

Since you are focusing on the Eastern Conference tonight....

There are lofty expectations surrounding both the Sens and the Canadiens this year. But, if you had to choose which of these two teams has the best shot at going deep into the playoffs based solely on the quality of their goaltending, which team would you choose?

Montreal: Price/Halak
Ottawa: Gerber/Auld

This may be kind of gay, but maybe you could mention that the official Calgarypuck hockey jerseys are done, and pics are up in the off topic forum.

Actually yeah, that might kind of cheapen the show.
