Telus Data Plan

I've been a long time telus customer, as my parents both work for telus. I'm interested in signing up for a 3 year contract, and getting the blackberry. However, they will NOT let me wave the Data Plan that is $15/month. My bf got a blackberry in December and was able to get it waved, and as well they threw in free text, evenings and weekends, incoming calls, and telus to telus calling. Has anyone else been able to get the Data Plan waved?? I'd love to hear your thoughts...

Just curious, why would you purchase that type of phone and not want the $15 data plan? It's way better than their other packages. Thought that plan was unavailable now anyways? Odd.

You can buy it then cancel the data plan after one month. I think.

I'm also curious what good a BB would be with no data plan. Planning some BrickBreaker marathons?

It's just I've found a BB isn't the best cell phone, and after 4 months of texting I can type faster on my cell than I could on a BB with a Qwerty keyboard.

Ohhhhhh, I gotcha. Well in that case, no idea. Your doing waaay better than I am in terms of what you are getting for free. I'd be all over what they are offering you.
