No shock, really. I guess it remains to be seen if he gets called up again. Might be a cap move (similar to what happened with Nystrom), or that wraps it for Ramholt in Calgary. Doesn't seem like 45 seconds was much of an audition.
Quad City doesn't play again until Friday.

I said the same thing when I saw it...not surprised.
I hope he gets another chance some day...but maybe he needs a bit more time down on the farm!

Can a player be just sent down "on paper"? I mean, if it is a salary thing, can they officially send him back here, but just keep him in town until Tuesday and then "call up back up"?

Nope. They gotta rack up the frequent flyer miles.

Didn't Van get into trouble for that a year or two ago? Had to prove the player(s) actually went to Manitoba?

the only one I really remember Vancouver doing was assigning a goalie to Victoria of the ECHL and calling him back up for the games.

Yes it is.
The player has to be physically in the same city as the minor league team. All receipts must be filed with the NHL.

It really is to bad he wasn't given more of a chance during his 1 game audition. The kid can fly and does have a decent transition game. That beign said I haven't been able to watch him in the AHL so I don't know if he managed to translate his euro game to the AHL level yet.
Oh well. Maybe he made a decent impression during practice with the team. Maybe it is better to send him down to the minors instead of having him hang out with the slumping team.

How much time do they get to travel from city to city? Is it a day? Or is it measured in hours?
Didn't Keetley already go down one day and back up the next? At the time I really wondered if he even made it back to QC. Maybe he just hung out at the airport.

Wasn't the controversy with Phili being they'd call up Steve Downie from the AHL to serve suspended time then immediately send him back down. Thus eliminating his suspension without him losing as much playing time?
Or would there be another loophole with the Phantoms playing across the street from the Flyers. (Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they play literally across the street?)
