Jozsa and Burke Join Quad City Line-Up

For Immediate Release
Saturday, November 24, 2007

Moline, IL – The Quad City Flames announced today that defensemen Jason Jozsa and Gerry Burke have been signed to Professional Try-Out Agreements after beginning the season with the ECHL’s Las Vegas Wranglers. Jozsa has played 293 professional games, primarily in the ECHL. Burke attended the Quad City Flames 2007 Training Camp before joining the Wranglers this fall. He has played 162 professional games including six appearances at the AHL level.

Jozsa, a native of Calgary, Alberta, has played 15 games for the Wranglers this year. He has recorded 11 points on a goal and ten assists. Last season, he made his AHL debut with seven appearances for the Flames AHL affiliate in Omaha. Jozsa was held scoreless while adding two penalty minutes. In 286 career ECHL games, Jozsa has 102 points on 24 goals and 78 assists.

Burke joined the Wranglers after being released from the inaugural Quad City Flames Training Camp on October 1st. In 16 games with the Wranglers this season, he has seven points on three goals and four assists. Burke has played 156 ECHL games beginning as a member of the 2005-06 Toledo Storm. He has 19 goals, 47 assists and 66 points at the ECHL level. In 2005-06, Burke played four games for the AHL’s Peoria Rivermen. Last season, he appeared in a pair of games for the Grand Rapids Griffins. He is still in search of his first AHL point and has two penalty minutes in the league.

The Flames also announced today that defenseman Jason Krischuk has been returned to Las Vegas. Krischuk appeared in two games with the Flames and was held scoreless while compiling a pair of penalty minutes.

The Flames are on the ice tonight to face the Milwaukee Admirals. Game time is 7:05 p.m. at the i wireless Center. On Saturday night, the Flames are hosting a Toy Drive to benefit the SKIP Program, an organization that provides services to children with special needs. Fans are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to Saturday’s game for the program. After the game, The Dispatch and Rock Island Argus is hosting an autograph session with Grant Stevenson. The team will head to Overtime Sports Pub following the game for a Post-Game Party. I think he was on that team with Heatley, Foster, Knopp and Kolanos.

He was. I'm shocked only Heatley "made it" out of that group. They all seemed like sure things, but injuries really got the best of Foster and Kolanos. I wonder what's going on with Knopp.

You could probably add Tyler Sloan to that group as well. I think he was playing for the Wranglers at one time. He had such a strong future in hockey but the sudden passing of his sister really impacted his career. Good guy.
