This is the 16th game of the year for the Flames, and the 13th game of the year for the Lake Erie Monsters. It is the first meeting between the two teams, and AHL game #200 on the season. The Flames come in riding a three game winning streak. Lake Erie is the AHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche.

Scouting QC:
Record: 5-7-1-2, Seventh place in the Western division
Leading Scorers: Points - Grant Stevenson: 4-7-17. PIM - Brandon Prust - 45. Goaltending - Curtis McElhinney, GAA: 2.57, Save%: .905
Last time out: The Flames continued their winning ways during a Tuesday matinée in Grand Rapids. Quad City won 3-1 behind a 37 save effort from McElhinney. It was the last time the Flames travel to Michigan this season.
Around the corner: The next time the Flames take the ice is in Iowa on Saturday night, game four of a five game road trip. The Flames have two days off before a stretch of four games in five days in three cities.
Notable roster news: Quad City signed free agent forward Krys Kolanos to an AHL one-way contract this season, and Calgary recently sent down goaltender Brent Krahn. Both are expected to dress tonight in Cleveland. Eric Nystrom and Matt Keetley remain on call-up with Calgary.

Scouting Lake Erie:
Record: 2-8-0-2, last place in the North division
Leading Scorers: Points - Cody McLeod: 5-3-8. PIM - Mitch Love: 41. Goaltending: Tyler Weiman, GAA: 3.27, Save% .911.
Last time out: The Monsters have only played one game since the last QC/LE meeting, and it was against the undefeated Toronto Marlies. The Monsters jumped out to a 2-0 lead, and lead 4-3 late in the game. However, they let the Marlies tie the game up late in the third, and then gave up the game winning goal just over a minute later, losing 5-4 in regulation.
Next matchup: Much as Tuesday was the Flames' last trip to Michigan, this game will be their last trip to Ohio. The Flames and Monsters don't play again until March 12th in Moline, and then again 10 days later at the iMark©.
Notable roster news: The Monsters have had no roster moves since the last game.

Random fact associated with tonight's game: Quad City Flames defenseman Tim Hambly has registered a point in each of his team's away games this season.

Pelech squares off with Wes O'Neill in a spirited scrap. Pair of big fellers.

Score still 0-0 in the second. McElhinney and Bacashihua both making some big stops.

Are the game day roster's posted somewhere, does it also show minutes played?

I haven't seen a place that posts the minutes played. Brent Krahn, Brad Cole and Brent Sutter were scratched tonight, everyone else dressed. Gamesheet (http://stats.theahl.com/stats/official-game-report.php?game_id=1003707)

Lake Erie won 2-0, with an empty net goal.

Surprised they sat Sutter. Here I thought he'd been a real energy guy for them.

That and the Cole/Baldwin/Cole/Baldwin rotation. Cole seems to be the one scratched more often than not. Maybe time to bring Madill up from the Wranglers and let Cole get some time in Sin City.

I did listen to the game. From the sounds of it, the Flames carried the play most of the game. Bacashihua was the difference. Van der Gulik was stoned several times, and Maki had a goal called back.

Empty-netter sealed the deal, but McElhinney was in fine form.

Good scrap. Pelech with some solid shots once the sweater was over O'Neill's head. Really pleased to see O'Neill's respect for Pelech after the scrap, giving him a pat. I liked O'Neill enough to draft him in the CPHL years ago, even though Redline skates like he has canoes strapped to his feet. Two respectful combatants here.
