Also: If any of our Swedish CalgaryPuckers can give us an update as to how he's doing these days, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty awesome to see a kid so excited after being drafted to the NHL and then seeing his family there after so happy for him. That's a pretty special moment I would have to think.

Kid is going to be a good one I think. Might get a Backlund #89 jersey when he makes it. I wonder if the Flames will let him wear that number, they seem to encourage lower ones.

Nothing special so far but it's hard to judge a player from stats over there.

Hmm, some good links on that swehockey site. Backlund has 4 goals and 3 assists in 5 games at the junior level and has registered 39 shots on goal. Vasteras is in the J20 elite Sodra for anyone trying to find it.

I think this could be a possible link for Backlund in the prospects thread.

He played a bit of AllSvenskan last season. Natural progression suggests he ends up back there. I realize the program he's in isn't EliteSerie, but that's better than J20.

Not trying to rush him mind you.
