....but it isn't McKenna. Apparently he wasn't available.

A kid named Quesada who's playing in Kalamazoo. (http://www.wingsstadium.com/news/2007/10-10_quesadacalledup.htm)

Brian Curran, Kalamazoo's coach, coached the Mallards for the last two years.

While Quesada was with the Houston Aeros last year he put on a magnificent performance near the end of the season for the Aeros, making 41 saves.

I covered the game for the Houston Chronicle, here's the recap. I tried to talk to him after the game but he and the coach were out of the arena five minutes after the game ended. I wasn't impressed.

From what I hear he's a pretty good guy.

Thanks! Nice article (I'm an ex-reporter!!) and good to see that Quesada will be able to handle it if he's thrown into a game situation.

McKenna has an AHL contract with the Blues affiliate, doubt he will play for QC any time soon.

He was released by the Rivermen in the AHL pre-season. I haven't seen anywhere that he is signed with the Rivermen or the Blues.

Vegas is about to start its exhibition season also. I only read one goaltender (McKenna) on their training camp roster. Could be a case that they didn't have a goalie to spare.

And I guess the QC Flames couldn't scoop up another spare ECHL goaltender on such short notice. It's a little unusual to see an AHL team dip into the IHL (formerly UHL) pool, though it does happen.

Good luck to this Quesadilla feller, I guess.

Anyone else find it funny that Tilley's link is to a site named "chron.com?"

He's the starter in QC.

I was looking for something else tonight, and found this... (http://www.pjstar.com/stories/100107/RIV_BEGU7H2H.W02.php)

Among those cuts were goaltenders Chris Beckford-Tseu and Mike McKenna. Beckford-Tseu, who has seen significant time with Peoria the last two seasons, will anchor Alaska's defense. McKenna was released, and he'll head for ECHL Las Vegas, where he was already under contract.

And then I saw this! (http://www.intotheboards.net/hockey2/publish/lasvegas/Flames_Assign_High_Scoring_Rookie_Donati.shtml)

Looks like McKenna's getting his shot at the AHL with Portland!
