Nothing quite like going down two goals and looking up to see marcus nilson on the ice. Feels like too much like last year.

Ryan Shannon was more due than a woman in labour for 10 months. The kid's missed more wide open nets than the entire Canuck team of 06-07 prior to that goal :bag:

Seems just like last season - they show up for 1 period, and coast the other two, and to make things exciting, they change up which period they want to play! :bag::bag:

The way the Flames are playing Naslund would beat the crap outta him.
Flames are skating around like they have no idea how to play hockey.
Great period boys, give up three easy as pie PP goals while getting 2 5-3 chances yourself that you do absolutely nothing on. No pressure, no real chances to score.
Pathetic period.

It's become a special teams game - nobody is really threatening even strength.
The second goal is all on Kipper - first for taking the penalty, second for gassing the soft shot by Naslund. Better take Sutter's offer while you can.;)
CGY is just not assertive. I fear the veterans on the team are not quick enough.
CGy needs to start a fight or two at the start of the third.
I'm think Luongo really did get hurt, but he sure threw his head back like he had been hit by a cannonball before twisting his knee.

Iggy has been brutal tonight. Kipper has been, at best, average. Horrible second goal to give up to Naslund.
Aside from Dion, and maybe Juice, the Flames have been horrible since the first period ended. How sad they are.
Same crap as last year, but now at home too. When they lose this game tonight, they are almost a quarter the way to the number of losses they had at home last season!

Man tanguay and Regehr look very weak out there. They noth need to get their games going.
I liked the 1st period but the 2nd period was just sad.
Tanguay looks very rusty. Messing up scoring chacnes with bad decisions.
Regehr just like Tanguay is making bad decisions.
Lombardi seems to be benched for whatever reason.
Nilson is still playing soft and hasn't finished a check all night long.
The forward group is still playing soft. Guys like Nilson, Nolan, Conroy, Iginla and Yelle need to start to finish their checks alittle more and stop this poke check crap. At least change it up alittle instead of 100% poke check. Geez were is the meaness that you would think Sutter/Keenan would like in the lineup.

Yup. Horrible 5 on 5, terrible PK (had chances to clear and instead of firing it down the ice they shoot it back around behind the net, only to have it picked off and more pressure applied), and quite possibly the worst PP ever, especially the pathetic effort on the 5-3.
Not much to like about that period.
The good news is we are going on the road for 4 right away. You know how great our road record..... oh wait.
Nevermind. Looks like another long October. Again.
Hopefully by the end of the month we'll still be able to see the front runners, but I wouldn't count on it.

So we are supposed to just accept our team sucking each and every Oct???
It almost cost them a playoff spot last year, so just say "Don't worry Flames, we know you guys suck in Oct, so take your time! Fall behind by 10 points in the playoff race! It's all good!"???
BS - this team needs to get their crap together NOW.
It has become evident that the Flames REALLY need a true, number 1 centre.
Watching Briere score again tonight, and watching some of the highlight goals from around the league tonight as well, we could get creamed when playing some of the other teams in the upcoming months.
We also, IMO, are missing a serious youth injection. Other teams are looking alot faster with the youth in their lineups. They look hungrier. Calgary's veterans just look less than talented and slow tonight. Right now, I'm pretty fed up with the Nilsons, Godards, Primeaus and Yelles of this team. Yes, Iginla and the rest of the top line hasn't shown up, but when that happens, others players ned to step up. Our bottom lines are completely incapable of scoring.
Right now, the Flames look incredibly bush league. And nobody likes bush.

Did some fans actually boo?...if so, that isnt normal for a Flames game. I usually hear alot of cheers when an injured player gets up.
Fan's cheer when injured players come off the ice/field/pitch/etc.
Fan's boo when players (of the opposing team) make things look worse than they actually are...
At least that's what I do...
I know it's not feasible with games such as hockey or soccer but I really like how if you stop the game in the nfl due to injury you have to miss at least 3 plays. Just think, if you stop the play cause you flop to the ice you have to miss at least 2 mins, maybe even 5 mins to make sure it's not just a normal shift.

I'm confused what part of the system they are missing when, on a 5 on 3 we fail to get any reasonable shot on goal. That's not a lack of "knowing the system", that's just a lack of effort and execution.
Otherwise known as suckage. And that the Flames have down pat. The learned it down the stretch last season. They perfected it in the playoffs. The practiced it all pre-season. And now they are demonstrating their considerable skill in it during October.
Again.

Why are so many people making such a big thing out of Keenan getting mad.
It is starting to get very annoying with the whole Keenan is going to freak out now and everything will be fine.
The only way the players are going to get it into their heads that they have to work hard is after Keenan runs a vet out of the city. Someone like Nilson, Warrener, Conroy or Yelle type veteran. After Keenan runs one of those guys out of town will you see the rest of the lazy slackers pick it up b/c they fear beign moved not fear of being yeld at by Keenan.
I hope Keenans temper helps the team but we don't ahve to see a comment about it in every second post.
