So the supersecret patch on the left shoulder is also a flaming C, or is that a flaming Q?

QC is the laziest logo I've ever seen.

Did the employ the dropout art student who designed the Flames Central logo to do it as well?

The Flames central log is worse by far! But the QC one isn't bad, but it's definitely lazy and unoriginal...

But on topic of the pics, I can't get them to work...

Any word on if they plan on using RED helmets as in NHL08?

It's not as unoriginal as the first Saint John Flames logo... I'm still trying to figure out with the "C" stood for!

What was the original one? Just the regular flaming C? All I remember is the dragon logo and the hockey stick with "Saint John" written on it on fire

Yep, just the regular Flaming C. The Saint John logo with the stick was always the shoulder patch.

I just wish they would have come up with an "original" logo at least for the shoulder patch. The unis look pretty cool, but I'm still just disappointed that they went into "shortcut" mode when it came to logo. Hopefully that's only because they had to put everything together so quick since the move from Omaha was only 6 months ago, and we'll be seeing something more original for next season. PLEASE!!!!!

I've been wondering if the logo and name weren't something Calgary insisted on. you know, trying to get "brand recognition" in a completely new market.

I think it's funny that Ramholt has one of his socks on backwards. Stupid Rbk and their socks.

It's hard to believe people get paid what they do to come up with these ideas, and then the others get paid what they do to approve them.

I guess I'm the only one that likes them and the logical and obvious connection to the parent team.

I like them alot more in person than in pictures/on paper. They're pretty sharp in person. Close up(there was a red authentic hanging in the office), they look like spandex.

I guess I'm the only one that likes them and the logical and obvious connection to the parent team.Well they're a bit of a let down to us Calgary Flams fans because to Omaha Knights logo was so good.

Made sense with the team and cities history, alluded to the big club logo and really neat overall (though a bit busy).

From that to this.

Just seems a bit lazy. Not to mention the Q seems to be "poking" the C.

Edit: just noticed that they changed the Flames on the Omaha logo. They're in the wrong order. Weird. Guess they're hard to get right (see the banner incident).

The Knights logo was amazing, one of my favourite ever. I don't know if the QC thing is "lazy" though. With the way things ended in Omaha it was very rushed to move the team and get everything done in Quad City..s.

I think they just should have went with a Flaming Q though.

I thought I read that the logo was sketched out by Aaron Roof, the QC radio announcer. It could be seen as lazy, but I think they were really under the gun to get something done quickly. I'm hoping they have a decent alternate logo, too, since they do have a little more time to come up with that.

This is an issue Rockford avoided by keeping their name and logo. Heck, they had ample time to design their logos, and they still came out goofy.

With all due respect to the former players and fans of the Calgary Flames. There is a proud tradition of Hockey in The Quad Cities, the infamous lucky jersey "14", sold out arena, and certainly 3 colonial cup championships. But that was as the Mallards, why change the name of our Team to a "generic" name just because of the affiliation. Would it be to much confusion, we are a Calgary affiliate not an Anehiem. Rockford is still known as the Icehogs, why can't the Quad City Mallard Legacy live in the AHL?:ot:

Because most fans want a complete break from the Mallards. The owners did all they could to work over the fans, which contributed to the heavy decline in attendance. It was felt best to make a complete break and start a new tradition, which, although I'll miss the Mallards, I'm ok with. I just wish there was a little more creativity, although with the time crunch I can understand why not. I just hope with more time comes more creativity.

No offense to the Calgary Flames fans, but it's not like we were terribly familiar with their logo to begin with. To most people here, the logo is a new thing, despite it not being too different from the Calgary logo. The Mallards logo and jerseys evolved over time, too, so give the new team some time for creativity. They have a nice team name now that allows for some creativity, too. You can do a lot of different things with a flame compared to a Mallard.
