How they can let Tim Brown go and keep Jerry Rice is a question for the ages if you ask me. Wow.

I don't think the Broncos need a 3rd receiver anymore by what I'm hearing out of camp, but Shanahan almost got Brown to come to Denver several years ago so I wouldn't be that surprised if he wound up going there. He'd love to stick it to the Raiders.

I agree with Brown in that he can still be a productive top 3 option receiver...something that I don't think Jerry Rice can say at this point in his career.

Rice is the best receiver ever. Don't get me wrong I hate Oakland but Rice at 40 some odd years can still keep up with these new aged steroid enhanced young'uns impresses me. But boy in his prime he was a player who could make a 5 year screen, into a 30 yard dash after the catch because of his speed.

Oh, I agree. I think you can make an argument that he's the best PLAYER ever, but at this point in their careers, I think Brown is the better receiver....and of course you have the loyalty thing that should've come into play. This is Al Davis we're talking about though.

And if you hate Oakland, I love you. :P

but at this point no matter what Oakland does they have to sit at the bottom of th leauge for a bit. They've become what's happening to the Detroit Red Wings. A bunch of has-beens who finally are dying out (not literally) they have no young talent to try and build a team on so they have bottom feed until they hit the Jackpot in the draft and have something to build around. Until then they may as well try to attract the fans and if I were asked wether I would prefer to see Rice or Brown, I would chose Brown. Even though Brown is currently the better player.

I think at this point that Rice is a more effective possession type reciever and Brown is still more of a speed guy. Rice was able to transition to a role better then Brown was considering their age and obvious drop in physical attributes.
