Back from a week in Mexico.

A few comments, it may tie into the "Do you believe thread" but...

I just got the scores from the last 3 games the morning after. Jubliation after the Vancouver game, gut wrenching after the other two...but, proud too...this team is not last years team going into the playoffs.

This team WILL do damage when they get in there. This team is that good and I am much more hopeful than I was last year about their playoff chances going into the second season.

I am sure its been covered elsewhere, but full marks to the Avalanche for what must be close to an unofficial record for wins down the last 25-30 games of a season. Truly remarkable making this as tight as it is given the Flames run of 7 games.

But for this weekend, no matter how pessimistic or skeptical you are on here, give the Flames the benefit of the doubt these next 30 hours. I realize everything isn't always roses and it isn't right now, but if you're a Flames supporter in any way, you want them to win this weekend, and give thm uncondisiotnal support that they will make the playoffs.

Being first to predict the Flames demise if they go down 1-0 or 2-0 tonight tomorrow, or lose tonight and have 1 game to make it, doesn't make you any more of an expert or get you any extra points on here.

You can go nuclear if things turn south....but you'll have the summer time to do so.

Now, more than ever GFG. Top off a great week, and my 31st birthday, with a victory tonight.

First off, Happy Birthday Browna.

They have my unconditional support win or lose. It has been that way for many years, and will be that way for many more.

Tonight will be a tough game to be sure, lets hope the boys can clinch in this game 6 scenario, cause as we all know game 7's can be a real beeatch.

GO FLAMES GO!!!

Even though its easy to get down on the team and be disappointed when they dont come through I really think everyone just cares so much about this team and wanting them to have success. Whenever they score I'm sure it lifts everyones spirits right up. I support this team regardless and those time's over the years when they have come up short I feel the same let down that many do only because I care alot about this team, seeing the guys represent my hometown is something that always makes me proud.

The last 3 games have been frustrating to watch at times and I'm sure you have read the game stories by now.

Bottom line as fans, we are a captive audience in a way as we cheer no matter what. The thing that is tough to swallow is watching a lack of effort and that has happened for too many minutes in the last 2 games.

It does kind of tie into the "Do you believe" thread, but that being said welcome back from Mexico and Happy Birthday Browna! GFG!!!

I find it interesting that some people equate pessimism with non-support.

It could be argued that pessimists are STRONGER supporters. Us pessimists are pessimistic because it helps lessen the pain of the potential dissapointment. The optimists must like the team less because the pain of the loss plus the pain of being opimistic and losing are obvioulsy not very painful to them.

We pessimists are forced to enact a defense mechanism days before the game to medicate an anticipated heartbreak. Now that is some crazy committment.

I don't feel that everyone has to beleive that the Flames will win, 100% guaranteed without a doubt, if you don't think so your negative sort of thing. I think the biggest thing that gets to people are the fans who just flat out give up on this team. "There playing like absolute crap" is one thing it's another when someone spouts off with the "I give up on this team" rant. I'd like to think that whether or not you beleive the Flames will win tonight that everyone will still be pulling for them and letting it be known through thick or thin your still a Flames fan.
