help with avatar

My avatar pic is a moving clip with phaneuf nailing a czech player in world juniors, but i wont move, does anyone know why

are you sure that5 when you saved the gif, it didn't just save a screen of the gif?

I tried saving a moving gif once and it only saved that image at the time of clicking save..

But i'm not tech savvy.

Keep in mind that there's a file size limit (20Kb I think), and animated avatars get big fast.

yah their cool but it didnt work, cause the file is too big, is their anyway i could make it smaller by editing it?

You can shrink gif files as small as you want, but the quality diminishes almost exponentially -- especially when you're trying to shrink it to the maximum file size allowed for your avatar.

Do a google search for online tools that shrink gifs for you, but like I said, the loss in quality is going to leave it pointless.
