It appears that Robert Lang and Ed Belfour of the CPHL New Jersey Devils are wanting out of the Meadowlands.

Lang was seen bursting out of GM Axmann's office yesterday, saying that he wanted to renegotiate his contract for a long term deal with a huge increase.
"I'm a top 5 player in this league and I want to be compensated as a top 5 player", Lang was quoted as saying. Axmann when reached for comment said that Lang is under contract for the remainder of this season and that if he is looking for an increase in the amount he makes, then maybe he should prove it out on the ice and help this team succeed.

Ed Belfour's nose was also out of joint yesterday with the acquisition of Ari Ahonen.
Axmann said that Ahonen was brought in to learn under Belfour and to push Eddie
to be the best goalie that he can be. Belfour was heard saying ..that either I am the Number 1 guy or I am not...either I am the go to guy or I am not but I am not gonna babysit some snot nosed lil punk. If they want him to be the goalie of the future..well then he can be that goalie now.
Eddie was seen rolling a bowling ball down the passage way behind the Devils Bench in the Meadowlands.

Well, we arent sure what GM Axmann is thinking now...I guess time will tell.

Lang and Belfour still Devils.....for now!

It would seem that Lang and Belfour are still Devils..at least for now.

GM Axmann was seen leaving the Meadowlands yesterday, when we approached him for a comment on the situation. "As it stands, both Lang and Belfour are still Devils and we plan on starting the season with them. Both are professionals and both are good hockey players that will help our team suceed, Axmann was quoted as saying.

"yes, we have had a number of inquiries from other teams about them, but we are not going to dispose of these players just to get rid of them. As I said before, both are professionals and we expect them to behave like professionals and play their best hockey with this organization. If we find a deal that works for us, then we will evaluate it, but for now, both of these players are Devils and will remain so, until further notice", Axmann said.

One can only assume that this GM knows what he is doing but one thing is for certain, nobody really knows!

Both Lang and Belfour are unrestricted agents at the end of this year which will make trading them a bit more difficult, however Lang is a top five player in the CPHL and Belfour is also a top five goalie. These types of players are hard to find and will most likely fetch a decent return for any team looking to go deep into the playoffs. Time will tell what transpires in this ongoing saga.
