Wondering if anyone else is having problems accessing CP using Firefox.

The following message comes up:
-----------------------------------
The connection has timed out

The server at www.calgarypuck.com (http://www.calgarypuck.com) is taking too long to respond.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
-------------------------------------

I lso have problem connecting to he ftp site using WS_FTP. It times out as well.

IE works though. That's the confusing part.

Did this just start on Monday?

Nothing to my knowledge, but the forums were VERY slow and I'm wondering if somehow the firewalls blocked your IP. IE likely works because it's going through your ISP's proxy.

Anyway, try this:

Click Start, Run, type in cmd and click OK. At the command prompt type tracert forum.calgarypuck.com and let me know what the last few lines that come up are.

Yeah, it looks like you're blocked by the firewall.

Go to: http://www.whatismyip.com/

And then email boardadmin@calgarypuck.com with your IP and I'll get it removed so you can access it again.

Yeah, I'm not sure what was going on earlier today. Been some other weird stuff. Scottie's aware and we continue to look into it (including the performance during game threads).

I cleared out the blocked IPs and have a ticket in with the hosting company. Hopefully they can figure out what's going on ...

I still can't access the forums from home. I guess now that Scottie is cleaning out the filter every day or so, so I should intermittently get back in but I haven't been able to for the past 3 days.

One thing I've noticed. I seem to recall that both times that I had been actively posting and viewing the board and suddenly was blocked for a few days while in the middle of a post last week - I pressed the "Preview Post" button instead of "Submit Reply". I don't know if this is the cause of anything but that's the only related factor I can think of between the times I was blocked.

*also, my post count is very nerdy at the moment.

Actually he's made it so there's no way anyone's being blocked at the moment. I guess the next question is what do you see in your browser when you try to access CP from home?

Actually he\\\'s made it so there\\\'s no way anyone\\\'s being blocked at the moment. I guess the next question is what do you see in your browser when you try to access CP from home?

I\\\'m posting this via flyproxy, I don\\\'t know if it will work, I couldn\\\'t post via proxy last night. In IE, I get a 404 Error:We can\\\'t find \\"forum.calgarypuck.com\\"You can try again by typing the URL in the address bar above. Or, search the Web: In Opera, it just get a \\"could not connect to remote server\\" message.Tried tracert again, it still times out atpos4-1.br02.ash01.pccwbtn.net [64.218.44.50]dtg.ge9-11.br02.ash01.pccwbtn.net [63.218.94.6]eqash31.defenderhosting.com [204.157.0.102]Pinging also times out. I\\\'ve reset my PC, reset my router, anything I can think of, it never gets past equash31.defenderhosting.com for the past few days.
-editIt looks like posting via flyproxy tries to convert the post into html as I type it out so the formatting is lost. I can\'t fix this since I can\'t access the site directly. I hope the post is still legible.

I'm using firefox, and for some reason I can't get some functions to work when I'm adding replies. For example, there should be paragraphs in this post. And there isn't. Is this my browser?

yes!!

Paragraphs!!

Now I make sense!!

But probably not!
