Sounds like what is happening in BC, but replace 'injury' with 'cut from NFL'. I sure hope Coach Matt can get one of the 4 guys in QB contraverse so far this season. Any of Maas, Ray, Printers, or Dickenson would be an improvement. Pluse, I think Tom "Not Unusual" Jones showed some glimpses of great play. Lets get someone in here that our back up can learn from so that we can get the Flutie-Garcia-Dickenson linage we used to have.

I believe Ray is still Eskimos property, so they would probably have to pass on him before we had a shot.

And I dont think Edmonton would pass.

Is he Edmonton property? I thought under the new CFL/NFL agreement CFL players must now forfill their CFL contracts before trying to play down south. Unlike before when after the CFL season regardless what contract was agreed the NFL could take our best with no compensation. So if Ricky Ray ran down south to try out with the Jets his contract with the Eskies would have had to be forfilled. Avery had a one year contract went back to the NFL the next then returned with the Argos. If Ricky Ray is free to sign with anyone he's on his way to Toronto guaranteed.

If Ray is still Edmonton property the Esks most certainly will pick him up. I don't see Maas being dealt to Toronto though. As I'm sure the Argo front office would make a pitch for him. Now that the Dave Dickensen surgery has taken alot longer than orginally thought. I think Edmonton will keep Jason keep him just in case.

Not good news for the Stamps.

Edm gets a proven, freaking awesome QB that will battle it out with a talented Maas (think he's going to back down? doubt it - he'll probably play better since his job's in jeopardy). Unless Maas/Ray demands a trade for not enough playing time, I doubt the Stamps will have a shot a picking one of them up. Plus, Edmonton's gotta be splooging themselves for having 2 great QBs on their roster.

BC - same situation I bet. Neither of them will go any time soon.

Ray is still EDM property because he was in his option year when he went down to the Jets. If he was an all out free agent, he could go wherever, but he wasn't. Because of that, and since he was cut, he has to go back to EDM for the remainder of the season.

He might not clear NFL waivers though, another NFL team could still claim before he comes back. I read somewhere that the 49ers could be interested. Hopefully he stays down there, the 'mos don't need to get any better.

Ray has signed with the Jets practice roster. There goes that idea.
