What is Hockey Prognosticating?

In the game, participants pick the winners of a set of hockey games in a particular week and are placed in a knock-out system. Beat your opponent and move onto to the next round. It's easy, all you have to do is predict the winner of the match, the margin, and sometimes the score for a set of games listed.

Note:

- In case of a tie, a tie-breaker featuring winning margins or correct score will decide who moves on to the next round.


How to Sign-Up:

Just post here that you would like to play ("Im IN"). Entries will be based on The HPT rankings from two weeks prior. If you don't have a ranking, you can begin one! Anyone can enter! :D

How to send in picks:

Picks can be sent in as soon as the "GAME LIST" is ready. Remember, you pick a winner in every game on the list! Picks should be sent by PM, so that your opponent does not know your picks. Picks should be titled: [HPT: Calgary 1st Round]. Picks must be sent in by the deadline stated in the GAME LIST.

Round Robin and and a final between the last 2.

In the final, a tie goes to the higher seed, as opposed to using Margins... Puts lots of value on finishing first in the round robin... I like it!!!

ok the 6 team round robin will start tomorrow (SUNDAY).

5 round robin games.. no margins, just wins and losses. a tie is a tie. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie.

Any missing picks, the winner will be awarded a 3-0 win. (hopefully with just 6 players, this won't happen)

Top 2 make the final, if the final is also a tie then 1st place in the round robin wins the tournament.

Oh great, my hopes rest on Florida. They better play like they did the last 40 minutes of game one, and not at all like they did that first period.

so the Vancouver game will decide the final ... we are tied 2-2 in differences, and I have VAN, OffsideSpecialist has LAK. I just can't cheer for the divers - I'd even accept a final loss if it meant that the Canucks lose :D
