Well, our plans to go to Priddis Greens for brunch have been kiboshed since they're full today. Where else has a good brunch? Nick's is okay, but I'd rather stick to the good end of town (i.e. the south). TIA!

Sweet, thanks guys. Nakota is a bit far but we'll give Carriage House a crack. Thanks!

Actually ended up at Smuggler's because they'd take a reservation but Carriage House wouldn't. It was pretty awesome. Adults are $21 each and kids are $1 for every year in their age (e.g. a four year old is $4). Food was great and there were lots of meat and seafood options in addition to the usual brunch items.

I liked taking the family to Cora's even for brunch, but it's always so crowded it turns me away. They sit you so close to the next table that they can take part in your conversation. Joey's is another one that's like that.

Milestones does brunch until 4 and their prime rib hash is so so good. Try it once and you'll be hooked.

Try Galaxie and Kawa Espresso Bar downtown, and
Eat!Eat!, The Deanne House at Fort, and Wildernest Dream Cafe on 9th Ave. in Inglewood next time. Anything on 9th Ave. in Inglewood actually.

I am confused, isn't VladtheImpaler a long time member here? Why does it say mar 2012 and have a different icon?

Well Detective Brotato, I'm VladTheImpala. I'm new. Also, I'm a chick. Write that sh*t down. Remember it. I don't appreciate being called a dude (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpost.php?p=3593984&postcount=67) when I CLEARLY HAVE A VAGINA (http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpost.php?p=3593741&postcount=126).

I always make an effort to go when I go back but my family loves going up for the buffet at the top of the COP (ATCO Centre?). Great views, decent price and a wide selection for a buffet style brunch.

Ah, it's good to see the newest incarnation of Beerfest has been laid to rest. As far as buffets, for something fancy, the old Lake Bonavista Inn used to do a nice one. It's called something else now, but I assume it's still good. Also, the Heritage Park one is solid - nothing fancy, but if your family likes the Old West decor, something to consider...

I live right by the Inn at Lake Bonavista. Unfortunately, they stopped doing their Sunday brunch last year.
Also, I'm pretty stoked a troll mucked around in my thread. :D

They are doing it again - because whatever it's called now, it has a Sunday brunch I believe...

Hmmm I'll have to look into that. Last I heard they were only doing it on Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc. If it's up and running again evwry Sunday they'll be seeing a lot of me.

Vlad - I just called Newport Grill...they still don't do the brunch buffet since ending it last year. They serve breakfast, which is maybe what you're thinking of. Unfortunately, it's about the quality of A&W's breakfast at 10x the price.

Too late now, but the Hospitality Inn at Southland and Bonaventure has a pretty decent and reasonable brunch. I'd say slightly better than Smuggler's for my money.

Does the Fairmont here do anything nice? I know the one at Banff Springs was probably the best that I have been to.

Oh well - I guess I was given outdated info. If you want a classy lunch/brunch, I would suggest the Heartland Cafe in Okotoks. It's not a buffet, but it's reasonable price-wise and would impress the in-laws. The high society of Okotoks seems to congregate there. ;)

Just an update to minimize confusion, I always forget that the Hospitality Inn isn't called that any more. It's the Delta Calgary South. Right place, right brunch, just the old name before Delta bought the location from Best Western.

Believe it or not, the Wedding Pavilion on the Trans Canada on the way out of town has a pretty tasty brunch. They only offer it from February through April, and it is about $25 a person. But the maple pepper bacon alone is worth the price of admission.

My wife and I went to the Stoney Nakoda when it first opened and it was terrible. Greasy food with many hot items being barely above room temperature. We asked for ketchup and HP sauce and they acted like we had just asked for gold plated cutlery. It was a very amateurish operation.

I went to fish there once at the "stocked" lake. Turns out the locals emptied the lake by bait-fishing, and some guests that day had their gear stolen.

Used to be Francisco's. We go there quite often and it is usually very good! Also Mohave Grill at the Deerfoot Inn has a similar and equally good brunch. Carriage House is also another good option. Very little difference in the three.

Yes the Palliser does brunch and it is on par with Banff Springs. Expensive but really good.

I started going to the Banff Springs brunch when it was $20/person... What is it now - $70? And the quality has gone way down...

Like any hotel chain they know how to pump you deep. I believe I paid $14.75 for a glass of Mondavi Cab Sav on my last visit, which had me leaving thinking it will be a while before I'm back. The bottle is worth maybe a few dollars more than that.

There is no way I'm going back, unless somebody else is buying. Just not worth it for what it is. There are many better "values".

Yeah....the Mondavi Cab Sav is good, but not $15 dollars a class good.

I was there a few years ago, has it gone downhill more recently? My last trip there was in '08, and it was really good.
Any brunch buffet that at least doesn't use that weird "egg" type, it okay with me. Ugh.. I can't believe that passes off for scrambled eggs anywhere.

The Coast Plaza up in the NE (formerly Marlborough Inn) used to serve up a nice brunch. Haven't been back in a few years so I don't know how much it is these days but it was tasty and the service was good :)
