ST.LOUIS BLUES NAME LUKE OBODZINSKI(mots) GENERAL MANAGER
Local Calgary man becomes at least the 2nd GM in Blues History

For Immediate Release
Friday August 20, 2004

Calgary, AB – Blues owner and Chairman of the board, Bill Laurie, announced today Luke Obodzinski(mots) has been named the General Manager of the St.Louis Blues Hockey Club.

“Luke is an excellent GM and I am very excited to be associated with him,” said Laurie. “He has the ability to lead teams, and even make individual players better.”

“This is a good group of players but we need to work on being a better team,” said Obodzinski. “I’m looking forward to working with the management group. There’s work to be done and I can’t wait to get started.” GM Obodzinski vowed that he will be very careful making his first trade, and noone will take advantage of his inexperience.

“Today’s announcement underscores that we’re serious about this team’s performance,” said Mr. Laurie. “We’re grateful to our former GM and his group for their great service and thankful that Luke’s here.”

Obodzinski becomes the new GM after spending six seasons trying to complete his degree at Mount Royal College.
