Finding out which builder built a property

Not sure if this should go in this forum, if not, please move the thread.

We recently bought a house and I am wondering if there is a way of finding out which builder built the house. The house was built in 2006/7, so it is not that old.

Any suggestions?

Couple of places to look. If you have storage under the stairs or in the mechanical room, sometimes builders put their name in spraypaint. Or if you have access to the roof (access hatch) alot of the time the builders name is on the trusses.

You could also try the City, see who applied for the building and development permits.

If the builder was also the architect, the name should be on the blueprints, if the previous owner gave them to you.

A few builders around that time stamped their name into the door of the thermostat as well.

Look under the stairs in the basement - the builder would have stampede their name close to the last few stairs.
